Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a width changing device of a mold which executes the width change of the mold by enlarging the shifting stroke of a short side frame without stopping an operation so as to cast a cast slab of narrow width to wide width and to have a large effect of preventing the breakout.
SOLUTION: This width changing device is composed of a stepping cylinder 11 for shifting connecting a piston rod 13 with the short side frame 3, a slide guide 14 fixed to a fixed long side frame (1) and suporting a cylinder body 12 of the stepping cylinder 11 for shifting so as to be freely slid and a stepping cylinder 21 for positional adjustment connecting a piston rod 23 with the cylinder body 12 of the stepping cylinder 11 for shifting. The shifting stroke of the short side frames 3, (4) are made large by both strokes of the stepping cylinder 11 for shifting and the stepping cylinder 21 for positional adjustment, and the breakout is prevented by the positional holding function of the stepping cylinder.
