Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance the reliability and durability of a catalyst by bonding catalytic substances and the support thereof or the mutual catalytic substances to glass containing V2O5 and P2O5 and softened at temp. equal to or higher than the heat-resistant temp. of the catalytic substances to prepare a denitration catalyst.

CONSTITUTION: A pasty composition formed from an adhesive glass powder and a binder is applied to both surfaces of a support 2 and catalytic substances are uniformly applied to both surfaces thereof. Next, the coated support is molded and dried and subsequently heated at about 550°C equal to or lower than the heat-resistant temp. of the catalytic substances for about 2hr and the catalytic substances are baked to form a denitration catalyst wherein adhesive glass layers 3, 3' and the catalytic substances 1, 1' are laminated to the support 2. Since adhesive glass containing at least V2O5 and P2O5 softened at temp. equal to or lower than the heat-resistant temp. of the catalytic substances, the catalytic substances can be strongly bonded and denitration efficiency is hardly lowered. As the support, there is glass cloth, ceramic cloth or the like.
