Abstract:
To provide a cylinder bore capable of appropriately forming an oil groove holding lubricant, to attain improvement in engine performance, and a method for manufacturing the cylinder bore.SOLUTION: A cylinder bore 10 is manufactured by: performing boring processing for a casting block, to form a slide surface 11 on the casting block; after the boring processing, performing honing processing for the slide surface 11, to form a honing surface on the slide surface; and after the honing processing, performing burnishing roller processing for the slide surface 11, to plastically deform a crest portion of a roughness curve on the honing surface and leave a trough portion of the roughness curve as an oil groove.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
