Abstract:
To provide a cylinder block capable of imparting an optimal lubricating characteristic, without causing overs and shorts in both a piston ring sliding contact surface different in bearing pressure applied to a sliding surface and a piston skirt sliding contact surface.
In this cylinder block, a cylinder bore slidingly contacted with a piston is formed of an aluminum alloy, and the ratio of Rk+Rvk of both sliding surfaces is set in the same ratio as the ratio of the bearing pressure applied to both sliding surfaces by making a plasma irradiating condition of plasma melting treatment different between a piston ring sliding surface and a piston skirt sliding surface.
