Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the fly of oil even when a balancer device and an oil drain passage interfere with each other, and mount the balancer device on a cylinder block securely.
SOLUTION: In the cylinder block structure of an engine where a balancer shaft 21L rotatably driven and synchronized with a crankshaft 11 is provided in an oil pan 16, a housing 22 holding the balancer shaft 21L, crossing the crankshaft 11 and its bearing cap 14, is mounted on the bottom surface of the cylinder block 10, and the inner wall of the oil drain passage 30, crossing the bottom surface 10a of the cylinder block 10 which is also the outer wall of the leg part 23 of the housing 22, opens inside the oil pan 16. Thus the useless fly of oil is prevented while the oil drain passage 30 is removed to reduce the interference of the passage with the housing 22.
