Title:
CORE BAR STRUCTURE FOR STEERING WHEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3399306
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core bar structure of a steering wheel which can absorb on relax stress even when material which is hard to be elongated is adapted.
SOLUTION: Core bars 6A, 6B of bilateral spokes of a steering wheel 1 are connected to a boss 8 by means of a connection core bar 11 on a lower side of a pad 3. A core bar 6C of a spoke on the side of a driver's seat is connected to right and left two points of the connection core bar 11 by means of a connection bar 12. The core bars are integrally formed of magnesium, etc. The connection bar 12 is once extended upward so as to perpendicularly cross the connection core bar 11, and connected to the core bar 6C of the spoke on the side of the driver's seat by means of hinges 12a. The connection bar 12 has a straight portion 12b substantially perpendicular to the core bar 6C, and slant portions 12c adjacent thereto. When stress is applied thereto, the straight portion 12b is bent and deformed and the tapered portions 12c are twisted.
