PURPOSE: To decompose and remove stain in a cooker by providing a honeycomb body in contact with the inner face of a box-like base materials forming a cookery and carrying oxide having catalytic action on the surface or in the inside of the honeycomb body.
CONSTITUTION: A honeycomb body is provided in contact with the inner face of box-like base materials forming a cookery, and oxide having catalytic action is carried on the surface or in the inside of the honeycomb body. The decomposition of stain in the cookery is performed by the reaction of the stain on a catalytic surface and oxygen in air. Specially, transition metal oxide such as Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn has high activity as a catalyst, and the surface area of the catalyst is enlarged to heighten the activity of the catalyst further when rare earth element oxide is added thereto. In addition, when the honeycomb body is provided to increase the apparent surface area thereof and the honeycomb itself is made cellular, the substantial surface area thereof is increased to promote decomposition and reaction.
