Abstract:
To effectively suppress generation of Ni2O3H in a nickel-hydrogen storage battery even in a hybrid vehicle under severe use conditions.SOLUTION: In a control method for a nickel-metal hydride storage battery, in the case of a battery where a memory effect has occurred, for example, due to use of air conditioner at a low SOC and rapid charging as in a hybrid vehicle that has a long standby time in an idling state, generation of oxygen is suppressed by charging while performing a plurality of times, intermittent discharge ID, which is intermittent discharge during charging, and generation of Ni2O3H is suppressed by suppressing local liquid drying phenomenon of a positive electrode, thereby, deterioration of the battery is suppressed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
