Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the stability and the operation response characteristic of the titled device by a method wherein a controller which receives as inputs an output shaft r.p.m. signal and a target output shaft r.p.m. signal and generates a scoop tube operating signal provided and the gain is varied in accordance with the characteristic of the titled fluid joint. CONSTITUTION:The rotational power transmitted to an impeller 2 from an input shaft 1 is transmitted to a runner 5 through an operation oil 8 in an operation chamber 6 to thereby rotate an output shaft 4. Further, the number of revolutions of the output shaft 4 is varied by increasing or decreasing the quantity of the operation oil 8 through the scoop tube 9 in the operation chamber 6. In this case, the controller 15 receives as inputs the r.p.m. signal 16 detected by a r.p.m. detector 14 and the target r.p.m. signal 17 so as to operate them and generates the scoop tube manipulating signal 18 to a scoop tube manipulator 10 which, upon receiving the signal 18, the scoop tube 9 is moved to increase or decrease the quantity of the operating oil in the operation chamber 6. Accordingly, it is possible to control safely and with good responsiveness the number of revolutions of the output shaft 14 over the entire range from the low speed rotation to the high speed rotation of that shaft.
