Abstract:
To prevent engine speed in downshifting from exceeding allowable rotational speed while performing a downshift for maintaining the engine speed within a high rotation area in a vehicle performed with control for increasing an engine output in downshifting.
An ECU calculates the normal value of the amount of blipping (S200) when the downshift is started, calculates present deceleration V based on vehicle speed V (S220, S230) when processing is performed for increasing downshift allowable rotational speed before starting the downshift (YES in S210), and reduces the amount of blipping in comparison with the normal value (S250) when the present deceleration V is slower than deceleration VS in requiring the downshift (YES in S240).
