Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the axial length of a combined transmission, by coupling an impeller to a hollow shaft, fitting a runner shaft in the hollow shaft and providing thrust bearings at the ends of the runner shaft and the hollow shaft opposite the impeller. CONSTITUTION:A runner shaft 20 coupled to an output shaft 19 is fitted in a hollow shaft 16 conjoined to an impeller 7. The hollow shaft 16 is supported by a radial bearing 12 and a thrust bearing 18. The runner shaft 20 is supported by a combined bearing 21. The bearings 18, 21 are located at the ends of the hollow shaft 16 and the runner shaft 20 opposite the impeller 7 to counter the thrust of a combined transmission and a fluid coupling. According to this constitution, the axial length of the combined transmission is reduced and the decrease in the installation area of the transmission in a newly-built plant and the easy installation of the transmission in an already-built plant are enabled.
