Abstract:

To provide an additive (polymer emulsion) that has the effect to improve print quality of the printed matter (printing density, friction-resistance, gloss) by adding the composition to water-based ink.

This colored emulsion composition for water-based ink comprises (1) an emulsion that is obtained by subjecting (b) a monomer bearing an ethylenically unsaturated bond to emulsion polymerization in the presence of (a) a reactive emulsifier and, when necessary, (2) an emulsion that is obtained by subjecting (b) a monomer bearing an ethylenically unsaturated bond to emulsion polymerization in the presence of (c) a polymer that includes a diene compound as a constitution unit, a copolymer including a diene monomer as a constitution unit or their hydrogenated product, each of them bears sulfonic acid group and (3) oil-soluble dyes.
