Abstract:
To provide a coating method for coating a curved surface, in detail, the concave inner surface of a bore wall or a cylinder wall with a powder coating material by using a plasma spray device, in detail, a thermal spray device or a HVOF thermal spray device.SOLUTION: A burner provided on the burner shaft of a thermal spray device in order to form a coating jet from a powder coating material by an arc is rotated around the shaft axis line of the burner shaft at a predetermined rotation frequency N. The coating jet is faced in the radial direction at least to some extent toward a curved surface from the shaft axis line in order to deposit a coating on the curved surface; the rotation frequency N of the burner larger than a basic rotation frequency N0 is selected; and the conveyance speed of the powder coating material is changed according to a rule specified so as to match with the larger rotation frequency N of the burner. A heat coating and a coated cylinder are provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
