Abstract:
PURPOSE:To transmit rotary torque smoothly and certainly, by generating a slippage between the friction clutch members and simultaneously by engaging the interlocking clutch members after adjusting their relative phases to each other's. CONSTITUTION:When a cylindrical sheath 14 is advanced by a cylinder, the rotary torque of a drive rotor 40 is transmitted to a slider 64 by the friction generated between the taper faces 78, 82, resulting in the rotation of the slider 64. If the cylindrical sheath 14 is advanced further, a spring 64 is deformed elastically and a slippage is generated between the taper faces 78, 82, allowing the relative phases of interlocking teeth 76, 80 to be adjusted to each other. If the cylindrical member 48 is shifted furthermore, the interlocking teeth 76, 80 are engaged completely. Consequently the cylindrical member 48 rotates with the drive rotor 40 as one body.
