To promote recycling of cinders after co-combustion of coal and waste tires by making it possible to easily and surely sort and separate the cinders to magnetic materials, such as wire, and nonmagnetic materials.
The cinder sorter has a feed hopper 1 for the cinders, a fixed volume feeder 3 for the cinders, a crusher 4 which has crushing rolls 41a and 41b with a pair of projections 42a and 42b rotatable at different speeds and crushes the cinders (a) below a fixed grain size, a vibration feeder 62 and a magnetic separation drum 72 consisting of a rotary drum 74 and a magnet 75, in which the cinders (a) fed by the feeder 62 can be sorted and separated to the nonmagnetic materials a1 and the magnetic materials a2 by utilizing the attraction and non-attraction effects of the magnet 75 by accompanying the rotation of the rotary drum 74.
