Title:
CENTRIFUGAL EXTRACTOR WITH NON-CONTACT SHAFT SUPPORTING STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3711277
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal extractor which makes it possible to obtain high reliability without causing problems of the corrosion and deterioration of parts, is free from maintenance and can operate for long hours even under the environment of a corrosive gas like nitric acid mist generated in a process for reprocessing a spent nuclear fuel or a liquid in the form of mist.
SOLUTION: A rotor 12 which is accommodated in a rotor housing 10 and whose main shaft 14 is supported is rotated and driven by a motor 16. The main shaft 14 is surrounded by a driving component housing 30, and has a thrust magnetic disc 36 at its upper end and radial magnetic cylinders 46 and 48 and a motor rotor section 54 on its circumference. Thrust shaft bearing electromagnets 38a and 38b, radial shaft bearing electromagnets 50 and 52 and a motor stator section 56 are incorporated into the driving component housing 30 and are covered with non-magnetic and corrosion-resistant protective plates 40 and 42 and a protective pipe 64, and the motor rotor section 54 is also covered with a protective can 58. Fluoropolymer sliding bearings 66 and 68 for touchdown are placed on the inner wall of the driving component housing 30 in the vicinity of the upper ends of the main shaft and the rotor.
