The motor 5 is reversely rotated by a cartridge grip signal 82 to permit the hand mechanism 76 to go back from the rack. In succession, a standing and falling plate 64 is rotated around an axis, and the hand mechanism 76 is rotated, whereby the cartridge is adjusted to take an attitude thereof in accordance with a direction of cartridge insertion. Then, the cartridge is lifted and inserted into an insertion part. Hereby, access time can be reduced, and the captioned changer minimized.
