Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent induction-hardening of a journal part, and concentrated heating of a cam.
SOLUTION: Cams WA1 and WA2 of a cam shaft having an intake side cam WA1 and an exhaust side cam WA2 of different phase from each other are hardened. A cam shaft hardening device comprises an intake side heating coil 110 for heating the intake side cam WA1, an exhaust side heating coil 120 for heating the exhaust side cam WA2, a drive means 150 for performing the revolution of the heating coils 110 and 120 at the centers of the cams WA1 and WA2 by deviating the center of the intake side heating coil 110 from the center WO of the cam shaft of the intake side cam WA1, and deviating the center of the exhaust side heating coil 120 from the center WO of the exhaust side cam WA2, a cooling mechanism of the cams WA1 and WA2, and a consent ring facing the journal part.
