Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily form a cam lobe by cold forging using a material SUJ2 with high hardness.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a cam lobe includes processes of: performing upsetting forming of a primary cold-forged body having a circular cam base and a cam top projecting outward in a radial direction from one side of the cam base from a blank made of SUJ2 of a prescribed length; performing blanking of a secondary cold-forged body having a preparation hole slightly larger than a semicircle whose cam top side becomes a linear end surface at a center part of the cam base; forming a third cold-forged body for forming contours of the cam top by locally extruding a linear end surface part on the cam top side in the preparation hole outward in the radial direction by a punch having a forming pin with an inclined step part with respect to the formed product; and performing blanking of the final formed body having a shaft insertion hole larger than the preparation hole around the preparation hole by a punch having a piercing pin with respect to the formed body.
