Abstract:
To provide a cage for a rolling bearing and the rolling bearing capable of preventing the breakage, for example, caused by metal contact between bearing members while being excellent in seizure resistance, abrasion resistance, and corrosion resistance.SOLUTION: A cage for a rolling bearing comprises: a cage body; and a hard film formed on at least the sliding contact surface with a rolling element and on the sliding contact surface with another member of the outer surface of the cage body. The hard film includes: an underlayer formed directly on the outer surface of the cage body; a mixed layer mainly composed of WC and DLC formed on the underlayer; a mixed layer formed on the mixed layer; and a surface layer mainly composed of the DLC formed on the mixed layer. The mixed layer is a layer in which the content of WC in the mixed layer decreases continuously or stepwise from the base layer side to the surface layer side and the DLC content in the mixed layer increases, the hydrogen content in the mixed layer is less than 10 atom%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
