Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device used for a rotor providing sufficient brake force even at low rotating speed in the braking device used for the rotor applying the brake force on the rotor upon exceeding the rotating speed of the rotor such as a conveyor roller to a given limit.
SOLUTION: A braking device 1 for a rotor is provided with the rotor 5 rotatably supported on a rigid shaft 2, a flywheel 6 rotatably supported on the rigid shaft 2, and a torsion coil spring 7, in which its ends are anchored to the rotor 5 and the flywheel 6, respectively. The rigid shaft 2 has a large- diameter part 2a having a diameter slightly smaller than the inside diameter of the torsion spring coil 7. Rotating a free roller 8 transfers rotation to the rotor 5 from the free rotor 8. The torsion coil spring 7 in which its one end is anchored to the rotor 5 attempts to rotate with the rotor 5. The rotation is transferred to the flywheel 6 through the torsion coil spring 7 from the rotor 5. Meanwhile, the flywheel 6 has no immediate rotation due to its inertia. The torsion coil spring 7 reduces its inside diameter accompanied with torsional deformation.
