Abstract:
To secure visibility of an identification character or an identification symbol without concentrating a stress.SOLUTION: On an outer peripheral surface at an opposite side of a side (inner peripheral surface side) where a bearing surface 54a of a coupling part 54 is formed in a bearing cap 50, a pair of identification symbol installation parts 54b and 54b is provided while protrusively providing an identification symbol 55 therein. Thus, even after the bearing cap 50 is assembled with a support wall part 26 of a cylinder block 6, the identification symbol 55 is easily confirmed. Between the pair of identification symbol installation parts 54b and 54b, a stress concentration dispersion part 54c consisting of a recessed curve surface that is recessed closer to the bearing surface 54a is provided. Thus, a stress to be concentrated in (rising parts (a root part and corner parts) of the identification symbol 55) around the identification symbol 55 caused by a force Fb acting from a piston 12 through a connecting rod 14 and a crankshaft 10 onto the bearing cap 50 is dispersed over the stress concentration dispersion part 54c (recessed curved surface).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
