To provide peculiar columns, beams, cross braces and an interconnecting structure usable for a building framework structure.
Each of the columns 30, 32, 34, 35 is an assembly of a plurality of elongate angle steel-like components separately held by spacers 42, 44 establishing laterally facing recesses between facing leg parts with a space to receive the altered and inserted ends of center webs of the beams 36, 38, 40 and the ends of the cross braces 82, 84. A region of a joint part of the joined and vertically stacked ends of two columns takes the form of a frictionally-connected compact splice part formed together with the inserted end of the center web of the beam through the end, and the columns in the framework respond by relative longitudinal motion of moderately reversibly and frictionally resisting severe load to dissipate energy. A similar frictional connection part is provided between the cross-binding beams.
