Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the wheel rotating speed of a walk aid vehicle within a desired constant range by automatically controlling the wheel rotating speed in a service condition.
SOLUTION: A planetary gear mechanism part and a governor brake mechanism part are integrated with each other in a brake drum 1 having a wheel and freely rotatable relative to a shaft 4. In this case, the planetary gear mechanism part uses an internal gear 5 integrated with the brake drum 1 as an input side, and the output side thereof is provided with an output shaft 7' freely rotatable relative to the shaft 4. The governor brake mechanism part is formed out of a brake shoe 9 of governor weight structure mounted on the governor plate 8 of the output shaft 7' so as to have one end open, and a governor spring having the required spring force to cause the action of a centrifugal force on the brake shoe 9 of the governor weight structure from the required speed of the output shaft 7'. Furthermore, the braking function of the governor weight- structured brake shoe 9 of the output shaft 7' capable of increasingly rotating in the preset speed condition is controlled, thus maintaining a wheel speed within a desired constant range.
