Abstract:
Damping coefficient-regulating inductive heating systems (32) are provided, as are isolator assemblies (30) containing such inductive heating systems (32). In embodiments, the isolator assembly (30) includes a damper coefficient-regulating inductive heating system (32) and at least one isolator (10), which contains a hydraulic damper (38) fillable with a damping fluid. The damper coefficient-regulating inductive heating system (32) includes, in turn, an inductive heating device (110), a controller (114), and a sensor (112) for monitoring data indicative of damping fluid temperature. The inductive heating device (110) is positioned around a periphery of the hydraulic damper (38), such as the outer periphery of the damper (38), in a non-contacting relationship. During isolator operation, the controller (114) receives data from the sensor (112) and, in response thereto, controls the inductive heating device (110) to selectively generate a varying magnetic field to induce heating of one or more damper components (58, 80, 82, 84, 86, 88), such as metal bellows (80, 82), in contact with the damping fluid.
