To provide a steam attemperator for uniformly attempering superheated steam without irregularity by uniformly dispersion mixing a cooling fluid into the superheated steam.
The attemperator has improved attempering effect in such a manner that the evaporation of a cooling water after spray is accelerated by using a heat exchanger installed on the outer or inner face of a tube for afterheating the cooling water sprayed to a passage area for the superheated steam. The heat exchanger is constructed by a coiled tubular body or a cylindrical body having a fin therearound. The coiled tubular body would be wound on the outer periphery of the tube or installed on the inner face of the tube, and the cylindrical body having the fin be coaxially installed in the tube.
