Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembling method of a cam shaft which can rigidly fix a cam piece and a shaft to each other while suppressing the warpage of the shaft in an axial direction.SOLUTION: In an assembling method of a cam shaft which is constituted of a cam piece 30 having a cam crest and a cylindrical columnar hollow shaft 20, the method clearance-fits the shaft 20 into a hole 31 formed at the cam piece 30. After the clearance fit, point-symmetric two points are fused with an axial center of the shaft 20 being an internal peripheral face of the shaft 20 in a region in which the cam piece 30 is clearance-fit as an objective center, and a cross section of the shaft 20 is deformed into an oval shape by utilizing thermal warpage which is generated when fusion parts Y of the fused two points are coagulated. Then, by this ovalization, an external peripheral face of the shaft 20 is made to abut on the hole 31, and fixed.
