Abstract:
To provide an artificial muscle drive unit, and a method for operating the artificial muscle drive unit.SOLUTION: An artificial muscle drive unit comprises a base and an artificial muscle arranged on the base. The artificial muscle comprises an expandable reservoir and fluid. The fluid is movable within the expandable reservoir in order to switch the artificial muscle between a non-actuated state in which a dimension in a movement direction of the artificial muscle is a minimum value and an actuated state in which the dimension of the artificial muscle is a maximum value. The artificial muscle drive unit also comprises a load support body arranged on the base, and the load support body has a dimension in the movement direction that is larger than or equal to the minimum value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
