To provide a method for ammoxidation by which an oxide catalyst is simply and effectively activated and the yield of the objective product is maintained at a high level over a long period.
The method for the ammoxidation is carried out as follows. A feed gas volume-increasing step for increasing the initial linear velocity of the feed gas in a fluidized bed reactor so as to provide 1.05-1.40 times that during the steady state at a frequency of at least one time or more for 200 h is provided for a time within the range of 0.5 min to 5 h when an organic compound is subjected to the ammoxidation in the presence of the specific compound oxide catalyst and a specified activator in the fluidized bed reactor.
