Title:
PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS58196276
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled adhesive having excellent adhesive strength to polyethylene, etc. and high moisture-resistance of the adhesivity, by adding a water-immiscible organic solvent solution of a polyisocyanate compound to an aqueous dispersion obtained by the emulsion polymerization of a specific alkyl acrylate, etc. in the presence of a specific emulsifier.

CONSTITUTION: The objective adhesive is prepared by adding (A) a water-immiscible organic solvent solution of 0.1W10pts.wt. of a polyisocyanate compound to (B) 100pts.wt. (solid content) of an aqueous dispersion prepared by the emulsion polymerization of (i) 60W90pts.wt. of an alkyl acrylate having 4W12C alkyl group, (ii) 1W7pts.wt. of an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid, a hydroxyl-containing alkyl (meth)acrylate, (meth)acrylamide or their derivative and (iii) 0W 40pts.wt. of other copolymerizable vinyl or vinylidene monomer in the presence of (iv) an emulsifier containing a functional group reactive with isocyanate group (e.g. alkylbenzenesulfonate ammonium salt), and reacting the components with each other under a reaction condition to enable the complete elimination of the residual isocyanate groups.
