To improve convenience for a user.SOLUTION: A projector 100 comprises: a projection unit 110; a first connector 171 to which an image output device 200 outputting first image information PJ1 can be connected; a start-up instruction unit 162 that instructs start-up of the image output device 200; a detection unit 163 that detects that the start-up of the image output device 200 is completed; an image storage unit 165 that stores second image information PJ2; and a display control unit 164 that, when the detection unit 163 does not detect that the start-up of the image output device 200 is completed, causes the projection unit 110 to display a second image P2 corresponding to the second image information PJ2, and when the detection unit 163 detects that the start-up of the image output device 200 is completed, causes the projection unit 110 to display a first image P1 corresponding to the first image information PJ1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
