Abstract:
A wavelength-selective optical cross apparatus. The apparatus comprises M input optical fibers (11), N output optical fibers (13) and liquid crystals on silicon (12), wherein the liquid crystals on silicon (12) comprise N regions (1, 2, 3, ..., N), one region corresponding to one output optical fiber (13); the M input optical fibers (11) are configured to broadcast each beam of light onto the N regions (1, 2, 3, ..., N) of the liquid crystals on silicon (12); the liquid crystals on silicon (12) are configured to select, for each of the N regions (1, 2, 3, ... N), one beam of light to reflect to a corresponding output optical fiber (13); and the N output optical fibers (13) are configured to output light beams.
