Abstract:
A waterproof stringer (2m, 2n) comprises: a tape (3m, 3n) woven from a warp (38) and a weft (39); a coiled element (4m, 4n) stitched onto a lower surface (31) of the tape (3m, 3n) with a machine-sewing thread (5); and a waterproof film (6m, 6n) layered on an upper surface (32) of the tape (3m, 3n). The machine-sewing thread (5) comprises a plurality of floating portions (52). Each floating portion (52) includes two sinking ends (52a, 52b) carried by a machine-sewing needle (8) piercing a base texture of the tape (3m, 3n) and sunk to the lower surface (31) side. The base texture of the tape (3m, 3n) includes a twilled texture formed across a boundary (P1) between an element attachment portion (33) and a tape body (34). The floating portion (52) extends to intersect with a rib (26) of the twilled texture in the element attachment portion (33) and/or a groove (27) between the ribs (26). A dent (7) is formed between the floating portions (52), corresponding to a piercing position of the machine-sewing needle (8). The dent (7) may be positioned between the adjacent ribs (26).
