Abstract:
Provided is a water-soluble azo compound indicated by formula (1) or a salt thereof, as a water-soluble yellow pigment (compound) having high solubility in water, and having a variety of durable properties such as water resistance, moisture resistance, ozone-gas resistance, abrasion resistance, and light resistance, in particular having excellent ozone-gas resistance. Also provided are: a yellow ink composition for a variety of recording purposes, especially inkjet recording, containing this compound; and a colored body colored by this ink composition. In formula, A indicates a sulfo group or a carboxy group, and x indicates an integer between 2 and 4.
