Abstract:
An ECU (50), which is a vehicular control device, is provided in a vehicle (10) equipped with a parking lock device (40) and a steering driving device (20). The parking lock device (40) comprises a lock gear, an engaging member, and an actuator. The lock gear rotates along with a steering wheel (11). The engaging member engages with the lock gear to lock the rotation of the steering wheel (11). The actuator operates to release the engagement. The ECU (50) is provided with: a determination unit that determines whether an unlock request with respect to the parking lock device has been made or not; and a steering control unit. The steering control unit, when the determination unit determines that the unlock request has been made, operates the steering driving device to steer in a direction such that a load being applied to the engaging member by the lock gear is reduced.
