Abstract:
Disclosed is the use of a zwitterion or zwitterionic polymer as a pH buffer material. The zwitterion or zwitterionic polymer of the present invention has buffering capability for both acids and bases. The buffering capacity of the zwitterion or zwitterionic polymer has a linear relationship with the concentration of the zwitterion or zwitterionic polymer, and different buffer performance requirements can be met through the concentration and the type of the zwitterion or zwitterionic polymer. A zwitterion or zwitterionic polymer material has an excellent cell compatibility, does not enter cells, and does not interfere with the normal growth and metabolism of cells, and can be widely used in the preservation and culture of cells, tissue or bacteria, virus identification, protein storage, and auxiliary materials for pH-sensitive fluorescent reagents/probes. A method for preparing the zwitterion or zwitterionic polymer is simple and is easy in terms of operation, and the purity of same is high.
