Provided in the embodiments of the present invention are an unmanned aerial vehicle, and a control method of an unmanned aerial vehicle. The unmanned aerial vehicle comprises a frame, a material box and a spreading mechanism. The material box is detachably mounted on the frame and used for holding solid particles. A side wall of the material box is provided with a pair of rotatable arc-shaped walls which can rotate between an open position in which the pair of arc-shaped walls form a funnel to facilitate feeding and a closed position in which the pair of arc-shaped walls form a part of the side wall of the material box. The spreading mechanism is mounted at the bottom of the material box, and comprises a spreading box body, a spreading impeller located in the spreading box body, and a driving device for driving the spreading impeller to rotate, the spreading box body being provided with a feeding port and a spreading opening which are in communication with the material box, and the spreading impeller being used for spreading the solid particles through the spreading opening. The control method comprises: controlling the unmanned aerial vehicle to carry out a spreading operation over the water; and controlling the spreading mechanism of the unmanned aerial vehicle to spread the solid particles forwards to the water surface during spreading.
