Abstract:
The present invention relates to a turbo compressor comprising: a motor including a rotary shaft, which has one end portion coupled to an impeller, in order to rotate the impeller; a housing having a motor accommodation space for accommodating the motor; and a cooling-air path passing through the motor accommodation space, and enabling cooling gas accommodated therein to flow therethrough, wherein a compressed gas suction port is disposed at the front end portion of the housing and the impeller is disposed at the rear end portion of the housing, the motor is disposed between the compressed gas suction port and the impeller, the rotary shaft includes a hollow portion extending in the longitudinal direction, the cooling-air path includes: a first cooling-air path, which starts from the compressed gas suction port, passes through the outer peripheral surface of the rotary shaft and reaches the impeller; and a second cooling-air path, which starts from the compressed gas suction port, passes through the hollow portion of the rotary shaft and reaches the impeller, and the gas suctioned from the compressed gas suction port by means of the suction force of the impeller cools the motor while passing through the first cooling-air path and the second cooling-air path. According to the present invention, a stator and a rotor of the motor can be quickly cooled using relatively low-temperature cooling gas suctioned from the compressed gas suction port.
