Abstract:
The present invention provides a four-wheel drive vehicle in which the left and right rear wheels of the vehicle are main driving wheels, the left and right front wheels are auxiliary driving wheels driven by an engine via an electronically controlled coupling 20, motive power is transmitted from the engine to the left and right front wheels via a differential, and a dog clutch 30 is provided in a motive power transmission path between the differential and the right front wheel, wherein the vehicle has: a clutch control unit 45 that switches to either a disconnected 2WD mode in which the left and right rear wheels are driven, a connected 4WD mode in which the four wheels are driven, or a standby 4WD mode in which the left and right rear wheels are driven with the dog clutch 30 connected and the electronically controlled coupling 20 disconnected; and an engagement determination unit 42 that determines if the dog clutch 30 is engaged, the clutch control unit 45 restricting switching to disconnected 2WD mode when it is determined that the dog clutch 30 is engaged.
