Abstract:
A tool transport system (10) is provided with a machine tool (400), a tool accommodating unit (250) that accommodates a plurality of tool holders, a work station (200), a transport device (300) that transports a designated tool holder to a designated transport destination, and a control unit (50) that controls the tool transport system (10). The control unit (50) executes: a process for identifying, from amongst the tool holders in the machine tool (400) and on the basis of having received a tool holder collection instruction, a tool holder which is holding an unusable tool; a process for controlling the transport device (300) so as to remove said tool holder from the machine tool (400) at a higher priority than the other tool holders in the machine tool (400); and a process for controlling the transport device (300) so as to transport the removed tool holder to the tool accommodating unit (250) or the work station (200).
