Abstract:
Provided are a tire reinforcing member with which both rigidity and fatigue durability of a reinforcing cord are achieved simultaneously, and a tire employing the same.
The tire reinforcing member 100 employs a rubber/cord composite comprising one or a plurality of reinforcing cords 101 which are aligned parallel to one another and are covered with rubber. The reinforcing cords 101 each comprise a hybrid cord in which a sheath portion 103 consisting of a plurality of non-metallic fiber cords 103a comprising a non-metallic fiber other than carbon fiber are wound in a helical shape around a core portion 102 comprising a carbon fiber cord 102a, wherein the tensile modulus of the non-metallic fiber cord at 25°C is at least equal to 0.1 GPa.
