Abstract:
A time measurement device 10 includes: a TAC circuit 12; a measurement gate 11 that is provided between a detector 4 and the TAC circuit 12 and that is set to a first state in which detection signals are allowed to pass therethrough towards the TAC circuit 12 or a second state in which the detection signals are not allowed to pass therethrough towards the TAC circuit 12; and a control unit 14 serving as a setting unit that sets a gate dead time, which is the time at which the measurement gate 11 is set to the second state, in the measurement gate 11 and also serving as a derivation unit that derives and outputs time information related to the detection signals on the basis of measurement signals output from the TAC circuit 12, wherein the control unit 14 that serves as the setting unit sets a gate dead time to the measurement gate 11, the gate dead time being an integer multiple of a fluorescence repeat cycle detected by the detector 4 and being longer than the dead time of the TAC circuit 12 itself.
