Abstract:
The embodiments of the present application relate to the technical field of terminals. Provided are a terminal device and a charging control method. The terminal device comprises: a controller, a hybrid power boost (HPB) circuit, a switch and a battery, wherein one end of the switch is connected to the end of the HPB circuit that receives power from an external charging device, and the other end of the battery is connected to the end of the HPB circuit that is connected to the battery; the HPB circuit is used for charging the battery and supplying power to a load of the terminal device; and the controller is used for determining a load power of the terminal device when the terminal device is connected to the external charging device, and when the load power is less than or equal to a first preset value, controlling the switch to be in a turn-on state. Therefore, a terminal device can charge a battery by means of a switch without the need to use an HPB circuit, thereby reducing the loss of electric energy during a charging process and improving the charging efficiency of the terminal device.
