Abstract:
A system and method for treating the boil-off gas of a vessel are disclosed. A system for treating the boil-off gas of a ship of the present invention comprises: a first compressor which receives and compresses boil-off gas generated from liquefied gas stored in a storage tank of a ship; a second compressor which receives and compresses the boil-off gas from the storage tank; a heat exchanger in which the boil-off gas compressed in the first compressor or the second compressor is cooled; and a refrigerant circulation line through which the refrigerant supplied to the heat exchanger circulates, wherein the first compressor is a multi-stage compressor which compresses the boil-off gas to a fuel supply pressure of an onboard propulsion engine through a plurality of compressors, the second compressor compresses the boil-off gas to a fuel supply pressure of a power generation engine that is supplied with fuel at a lower pressure than that of the propulsion engine, and the boil-off gas compressed through some stages of the first compressor may be supplied to the heat exchanger to be cooled or supplied to the power generation engine.
