Abstract:
Provided are: a surface treatment agent that exhibits superior long-term storage stability and is capable of forming a surface layer exhibiting superior acid resistance; an article that has a surface layer; and a production method for an article. A surface treatment agent according to the present invention contains a fluorine-containing ether compound that has a fluoropolyether chain and a reactive silyl group, and one or more ions selected from the group consisting of iodide ions and bromide ions, wherein the ion content is 0.05-2.00 ppm by mass with respect to the total mass of the surface treatment agent.
