Abstract:
A string optimizer of the present invention is connected between a photovoltaic string and an inverter, which constitute a photovoltaic power generation system, so as to boost or bypass and output a voltage applied from the photovoltaic string, and comprises: a control unit for controlling operations of the string optimizer according to a preconfigured control algorithm; a first switch for controlling the amount of current input from the photovoltaic string under the on/off control of the control unit; a booster unit for boosting or bypassing and outputting the voltage transferred from the photovoltaic string; a second switch for controlling the boosting voltage of the booster unit under the on/off control of the control unit; and a first current sensor for sensing the output current of the string optimizer. The control unit adjusts the on/off time of the first switch unit until the output current value sensed by the first current sensor reaches a preconfigured inverter operation current value, thereby increasing the output current value in a preconfigured incremental unit. Accordingly, with reference to a low output value that is output during an initial operation, the current value that is input to an input end is gradually increased, thereby implementing a soft-start function. This is advantageous in that the occurrence of an inrush current can be suppressed.
