Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for removing the eyes from the head of a squid, the squid eye removing apparatus (1) of the present invention comprising: a tray (20) comprising a support plate (21) on which a squid (2) is placed, and a fixing member (22) which is formed on the front end side of the support plate (21) and fixes the squid (2) onto the support plate (21) when a neck portion (2d) between a mantle (2a) and the head (2b) of the squid (2) is inserted therein; a restraining mechanism (30) which restrains the head (2b) of the squid (2) so that an eye (2g) that is placed immediately in front of the fixing member (22) when the neck portion (2d) is inserted in the fixing member (22) can be located at a designated position in the vertical direction and the back-and-forth direction; and an eye extracting mechanism (40) which comprises an electric drill (41) that is installed to be movable forward and backward with respect to the eye (2g) in the head (2b) restrained by the restraining mechanism (30), and extracts the eye (2g) by using a bit (42), which is rotated, of the electric drill (41).
