Abstract:
A spare tire holding mechanism 1 has: a plurality of side members extending in the front-rear direction of a vehicle; a cross member provided perpendicular to the plurality of side members; and a spare tire lifting and lowering mechanism provided to the cross member and lifting and lowering a spare tire. The cross member has a cross member body and a plurality of gussets. Contact sections with which the spare tire lifted by the spare tire lifting and lowering mechanism comes into contact are formed on the lower surfaces, respectively, of the plurality of gussets. The length of the cross member body in the transverse direction of the cross member and the length of the plurality of gussets in the transverse direction of the cross member are the same.
