Description:
A seat for a toilet bowl for washing a person sitting on said seat

Field of application of the invention

The present invention applies to the field of aids for people considered to have “limited mobility”, for example elderly or disabled people. In particular, the pre- sent invention relates to aids of the aforesaid type which are applicable to seat toilets intended for the collection of urine and stools of a person during urination or bowel movements. The aforesaid seat toilets are commonly referred to as “toilets” or “WCs” and will be identified below in the description, as well as in the claims, by the term “toilet bowl”. More precisely, the present invention relates to a seat for a toilet bowl for wash ing the upper part of the body of a person sitting on said seat.

Overview of the prior art

Current toilet bowl seats for people with limited mobility comprise a sitting member substantially shaped like a horseshoe (so as to be centrally perforat- ed), which can be superimposed on the upper edge of the toilet bowl so as to cover the latter at least partially. The aforesaid seats further include two or more legs through which the seats can rest on the floor.

Known seats for toilet bowls substantially act as a booster and, excluding their aid in the context of carrying out body needs, said seats do not bring any ad- vantages compared to the use of a common chair.

For the avoidance of doubt, here and in the following description, as well as in the claims, “superimposing a first object on a second object” means “placing the first object above the second object”, without necessarily having a contact be tween said two superimposed objects. Similar considerations also apply for the expression “capable of being superimposed”.

Objects of the invention It is the object of the present invention to overcome the aforesaid drawbacks by providing a seat for a toilet bowl which, in addition to acting as an aid for carry ing out the body needs, allows easily washing the upper part of the body of a person sitting on said seat, conveying the water used for washing said person into the toilet bowl. Summary and advantages of the invention

The present invention relates to a seat capable of being superimposed on a toi let bowl comprising - said toilet bowl - a side wall including an upper edge de limiting an opening through which urine and stools are introducible into said toi let bowl, said seat comprising a sitting member where a person can rest his/her buttocks and/or thighs for sitting on said seat when the latter is superimposed on said toi let bowl, said sitting member comprising:

• a support structure at which: - said seat can be superimposed on said toilet bowl and

- a person, when sitting on said seat, rests with his/her buttocks and/or thighs, said support structure: - being elongated in shape,

- extending from a first end to a second end opposite to said first end and

- having an at least partially curved development, preferably substantially C- shaped or U-shaped, so as to create a concavity; · a first cavity delimited, at least partially, by said support structure externally thereto and at said concavity, said support structure having an extension such that and said at least partial- ly curved development of said support structure being such that said support structure can be superimposed on said toilet bowl, at said upper edge (of the latter), so that

- it projects, at a portion thereof, which can be defined as projecting, from said upper edge (of said toilet bowl) above and/or inside said opening (of said toilet bowl), thus occluding the latter only partially and

- such that said first cavity (of said sitting member) is vertically aligned with said opening (of said toilet bowl) so that, when a person is sitting on said seat, urine and stools of said person, passing through said first cavity, reach said opening by falling, so as to be introduced into said toilet bowl, where, according to the invention, said support structure is tubular and is her metically occluded at each of said ends, so as to delimit a second cavity therein surrounding said first cavity, said support structure comprising:

• a lower wall only partially opposing said upper edge (of said toilet bowl) when said support structure is superimposed on said toilet bowl (as specified above, i.e. :

- projecting, at a projecting portion thereof, from said upper edge above and/or inside said opening, thus occluding the latter only partially and

- so that said first cavity is vertically aligned with said opening), said projecting portion of said support structure (i.e., said portion of the latter projecting from said upper edge above and/or inside said opening when said support structure is superimposed on said toilet bowl as specified above) cor responding to a portion of said lower wall not opposing said upper edge (of said toilet bowl) when said support structure is superimposed on said toilet bowl (as specified above);

• an upper wall opposite to and preferably opposing said lower wall and at which a person, when sitting on said seat, rests his/her buttocks and/or thighs;

• an inner side wall interposed between said lower and upper walls, and at which said support structure delimits, at least partially, said first cavity sepa rating the latter from said second cavity;

• an outer side wall opposite to and preferably opposing said inner side wall and also interposed between said lower and upper walls, said seat further comprising a conveying side wall extending from a lower edge thereof (of said conveying side wall) to an upper edge (of said conveying side wall), said conveying side wall being hermetically connected, at the lower edge there of, to said support structure at said outer side wall or where the latter is con nected to said lower wall, said conveying side wall opposing said outer side wall only partially and at a lower portion thereof, said conveying side wall and said inner side wall lying on opposite sides with respect to said outer side wall so that the latter is surrounded, at least partially, by said conveying side wall, said conveying side wall extending away from said lower wall at least partially beyond said upper wall so that, when said support structure is superimposed on said toilet bowl (as specified above):

• said upper edge of said conveying side wall is, at least partially, at a higher level with respect to said upper wall (of said support structure),

• said upper edge of said conveying side wall and said toilet bowl lie on oppo site sides with respect to said lower wall (of said support structure) and

• when a person is sitting on said seat, said conveying side wall is at least par tially opposing at least a lower portion of the back, and preferably also a low er portion of each hip, of said person, said conveying side wall, at the lower edge thereof, being hermetically connect ed to said support structure in a continuous manner (i.e. without interruptions along said lower edge of said conveying side wall), so as to delimit, at said low er portion thereof (opposing said outer side wall of said support structure) and together with said outer side wall (of said support structure), a third cavity sur rounding said second cavity and separated from the latter by said outer side wall, said sitting member further comprising:

• a first plurality of through holes obtained in said outer side wall (of said sup port structure) so that each hole of said first plurality is interposed between said lower edge of said conveying side wall and said upper wall (of said sup port structure), so that said holes of said first plurality put said third cavity in communication with said second cavity;

• a second plurality of through holes obtained in said projecting portion (of said support structure and encompassed in said lower wall of said support struc ture), so that, when said support structure is superimposed on said toilet bowl (as specified above), said holes of said second plurality put said second cavity in communication with said opening (of said toilet bowl), with reference to when said support structure is superimposed on said toilet bowl as specified above (i.e. , when the seat is in its “use” position superim posed on a toilet bowl), at least one hole, and preferably all the holes, of said second plurality being at a lower level with respect to the holes of said first plurality if the latter are all at the same level, or with respect to the hole of said first plurality placed at the lowest level among said holes of said first plu rality.

The seat of the invention, when superimposed on a toilet bowl (for example placing the lower wall of the support structure on the upper edge of the toilet bowl), is advantageously suitable to convey, at least partially, into the toilet bowl, a liquid (such as soapy water) falling onto the conveying side wall or onto a person sitting on the seat. More precisely, said liquid, due to the weight force acting thereon, is conveyed into the third cavity by the conveying side wall or by the skin of the aforesaid person. From the third cavity, the liquid penetrates into the second cavity crossing the outer side wall of the support structure at the holes of the first plurality. From the second cavity, the liquid then precipitates in to the toilet bowl crossing the projecting portion of the lower wall of the support structure at the holes of the second plurality. In light of the above description, once the seat of the invention has been superimposed on a toilet bowl, in order to wash the upper part of a persons ’body, it is simply necessary to make said person sit on the seat and wet him/her from above. As the person is sitting on the seat, the water deposited on the aforesaid person or on the conveying side wall flows downwards until reaching the third cavity, to then precipitate into the toilet bowl crossing the support structure. If in the immediate vicinity of a toilet bowl there is a shower system with a shower head connected to a highly flexible and relatively long hose, by superimposing the seat of the invention on the toilet bowl and having a person sit on the seat, it is thus possible to wash the upper part of the body of said person (by conveying the water used for washing said person into the toilet bowl) substantially as if the latter were sitting inside a shower cubicle.

Other innovative features of the present invention are disclosed in the following description and mentioned in the dependent claims. According to an aspect of the invention, said conveying side wall has an at least partially diverging development from the lower edge thereof and away from said lower wall (of said support structure).

Advantageously, according to this aspect of the invention, when the seat is su perimposed on a toilet bowl and a person is sitting on the seat, it is less likely that a liquid falling from above onto said person and bouncing against the skin of the latter, for example, will not be intercepted by the conveying side wall (flowing out from the seat and thus without being collected in the third cavity). According to another aspect of the invention, at least one hole of said first plu rality is delimited by an edge which coincides, for a segment thereof, with said lower edge of said conveying side wall.

Advantageously, according to this aspect of the invention, since at least one hole of the first plurality is adjacent to the conveying side wall at the lower edge of the latter, the amount of liquid which can accumulate in the third cavity before penetrating into the second cavity (in the support structure) is minimal or zero. According to another aspect of the invention, with reference to when said sup port structure is superimposed on said toilet bowl (as specified above):

• said lower wall (of said support structure), at said projecting portion, has an at least partially converging development, away from said outer side wall, to wards the interior of said toilet bowl and

• at least one hole of said second plurality is at a zone of said projecting por- tion placed at the lowest level in said projecting portion.

Advantageously, according to this aspect of the invention, a liquid entering in the second cavity tends, due to the weight force, to flow towards at least one hole of the second plurality. Therefore, the amount of liquid which can accumu late in the second cavity before precipitating into the toilet bowl through the holes of the second plurality is minimal or zero.

According to another aspect of the invention, said lower wall being at least par tially flat at least at a portion thereof opposing said upper edge of said toilet bowl when said support structure is superimposed on said toilet bowl (as speci fied above), said lower wall also being at least partially flat at said projecting portion (not op posing said upper edge of said toilet bowl), said projecting portion being, at least partially, parallel to said portion of said lower wall opposing said upper edge of said toilet bowl when said support struc ture is superimposed on said toilet bowl (as specified above), with reference to when said support structure is superimposed on said toilet bowl (as specified above), said projecting portion being at a lower level with re spect to said portion of said lower wall opposing said upper edge of said toilet bowl.

Advantageously, again according to this aspect of the invention, since the holes of the second plurality are obtained at the projecting portion, a liquid entering in the second cavity tends, due to the weight force, to flow towards the holes of the second plurality. Similarly to the above description with reference to the pre ceding aspect of the invention, the amount of liquid which can accumulate in the second cavity before precipitating into the toilet bowl through the holes of the second plurality is thus minimal or zero.

According to another aspect of the invention, said seat comprises one or more bearing structures each of which including a first end and a second end oppo- site to the first end thereof, said bearing structure, or each of said bearing structures if more than one, be ing connected to said support structure and/or to said conveying side wall at a first end thereof and being capable to rest on the ground at the second end thereof so that, when said bearing structure, or each of said bearing structures if more than one, rests on the ground, said support structure is superimposed on said toilet bowl (as specified above).

According to this aspect of the invention, by placing the seat directly on the ground, the level at which the sitting member is located is not constrained to, and can therefore be higher than, the level at which there is the upper edge of the toilet bowl on which the seat is superimposed.

According to another aspect of the invention, said bearing structure, or each of said bearing structures if more than one, is reversibly connected to said support structure and/or to said conveying side wall, i.e. , so as to be disconnectable from said support structure and/or from said conveying side wall and recon- nectable thereto as required.

Advantageously, according to this aspect of the invention, when the seat is not in use, the bearing structures are removable so as to reduce the size of the seat.

According to another aspect of the invention, in said bearing structure, or in each of said bearing structures if more than one, the distance between said first and second ends (i.e., the height of the bearing structure) is adjustable by a us er of said seat.

According to another aspect of the invention, said seat comprises a back mem ber extending from a lower edge thereof to an upper edge thereof, said back member being connected, at the lower edge thereof, to said support structure at said upper wall or where the latter is joined to said outer side wall or inner side wall, said back member opposing said conveying side wall so as to be surrounded by the latter, with reference to when said support structure is superimposed on said toilet bowl (as specified above), said upper edge of said back member being at a lower level with respect to said upper edge of said conveying side wall. Advantageously, according to this aspect of the invention, the seat comprises a small back member where a person sitting on the seat can rest his/her back if said person needs to wash his/her hair (or have it washed), for example. According to another aspect of the invention, said seat comprises at least one handle integrally connected to said support structure so as to extend, from said support structure, away from said toilet bowl with reference to when said sup port structure is superimposed on said toilet bowl (as specified above).

Brief description of the drawings Further objects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description of exemplary embodiments thereof and from the accompanying drawings, merely given by way of non-limiting explana tion, in which:

- figure 1 shows a diagrammatic perspective view of a seat according to the present invention superimposed on a toilet bowl;

- figure 2 shows a diagrammatic front plan view of the seat in figure 1 ;

- figure 3 shows a cross-sectional detail of the seat in figure 1.

Detailed description of preferred embodiments of the invention

Hereinafter in the present description, a drawing may also be shown with refer- ence to elements not expressly indicated in that drawing but indicated in other drawings. The scale and proportions of the various elements depicted do not necessarily correspond to the real values.

Figures 1 and 2 show a seat 1 of the invention superimposed on a toilet bowl 2. The latter comprises a side wall 3 including a substantially oval upper edge 4 delimiting an opening 5 through which urine and stools are introducible into the bowl 2. Toilet bowls are substantially known. Therefore, no further details will be provided.

The seat 1 comprises a sitting member 6 where a person can rest his/her but tocks and/or thighs for sitting on the seat 1 when the latter is superimposed on the bowl 2 (as shown in the figures). The sitting member 6 comprises a tubular support structure 7, having an elongated shape and extending from a first end 8 to a second end 9 opposite to the end 8. The structure 7 has an at least partially curved development so as to create a concavity. More precisely, the structure 7 is preferably substantially U-shaped or C-shaped, as shown in figure 1, so that the ends 8 and 9 are preferably mutually opposed.

At the structure 7, the seat 1 can be superimposed on a toilet bowl, and again at the structure 7, a person rests his/her buttocks and/or thighs when sitting on the seat 1.

The structure 7 is shaped so that (i.e., has such an extension that and has such an at least partially curved development that) said structure 7 can be superim posed on the bowl 2, at the edge 4 of the latter, so as to project, at a portion 14 thereof, previously defined as “projecting” from the edge 4 above and/or inside the opening 5, so as to occlude the latter only partially.

The structure 7 delimits externally and at least partially a cavity 10 previously identified as the “first cavity”. The cavity 10 is delimited by the structure 7 on the side of the cavity of the latter. The structure 7 is also shaped so as to be capa- ble of being superimposed on the edge 4 of the bowl 2 so that the cavity 10 of the sitting member 6 is vertically aligned with the opening 5 of the bowl 2 so that, when a person is sitting on the seat 1 , the urine and stools of said person, crossing the cavity 10, reach the opening 5 by falling so as to be introduced into the bowl 2. The structure 7 is hermetically occluded at the ends 8 and 9 so as to delimit a cavity 11 therein (shown in figure 3) previously identified as the “second cavity” and surrounding the cavity 10.

With reference to figure 3, it can be noted that the structure 7 preferably com prises a lower wall 12 and an upper wall 13 opposite each other and delimiting the cavity 11 at the bottom and at the top, respectively. A person rests his/her buttocks and/or thighs on the wall 13 when sitting on the seat 1. At the wall 12, the structure 7, and thus the seat 1, can be superimposed on the bowl 2. More precisely, when the structure 7 is superimposed on the bowl 2 as specified above (i.e., projecting, at the portion 14, from the edge 4 above and/or inside the opening 5, and so that the cavity 10 is vertically aligned with the opening 5), the wall 12 is only partially opposed to the edge 4. Therefore, the wall 12 com prises a first portion 15 which is preferably at least partially flat and opposed to the edge 4 when the structure 7 is superimposed on the bowl 2 as specified above, and a second portion, corresponding to the aforementioned portion 14, which is also preferably at least partially flat and not opposed to the edge 4 (alt hough projecting from the latter above and/or inside the opening 5) when the structure 7 is superimposed on the bowl 2 as specified above. The portion 14 is preferably at least partly parallel to the portion 15 and preferably lies at a lower level with respect to the portion 15 when the structure 7 is superimposed on the bowl 2 as specified above. In particular, as can be seen in figure 3, the wall 12 has a cross-section the development of which is preferably step-shaped. With reference to the position of the structure 7 when the latter is superimposed on the bowl 2 as specified above, the cross-section of the wall 12 preferably com prises a first segment, which is preferably rectilinear and horizontal (corre sponding to the portion 15) joined to a second segment which is also preferably rectilinear and horizontal (corresponding to the flat part of the portion 14) by means of an intermediate segment which is preferably rectilinear and vertical. When the structure 7 is superimposed on the bowl 2 as specified above, the aforesaid first segment is opposed to the edge 4 of the bowl 2, the aforesaid in termediate segment extends from the first segment into the bowl 2 through the opening 5 (and is thus preferably opposed to the portion of the inner face of the wall 3 delimiting the opening 5) and the aforesaid second segment, projecting from the edge 4 into the opening 5 so as to partially occlude the latter, is at a lower level with respect to the aforesaid first segment of the cross-section of the wall 12.

The walls 12 and 13 are preferably opposed to each other. In addition to this, when the structure 7 is superimposed on the bowl 2 as specified above, the wall 13 is preferably horizontal.

The structure 7 comprises an inner side wall 16 interposed between the walls 12 and 13, and at which the support structure 7 delimits, at least partially, the cavity 10 separating the latter from the cavity 11. The structure 7 further com- prises an outer side wall 17 opposite to the wall 16 and also interposed between the walls 12 and 13. The walls 16 and 17 are preferably mutually opposed and delimit the cavity 11 laterally. Moreover ,the walls 16 and 17 are preferably ver- tical when the structure 7 is superimposed on the bowl 2 as specified above.

The seat 1 comprises a conveying side wall 18 extending from a lower edge 19 thereof to an upper edge 20 thereof. The wall 18 surrounds the structure 7 at least partially and more precisely the wall 17 of the latter. As can be seen in fig- ure 3, the wall 18 is hermetically connected, at the edge 19, to the structure 7 at the wall 17 or, preferably, along the edge of the wall 17 where the latter is joined to the wall 12. The wall 18 extends from the edge 19 away from the wall 12 at least partially beyond the wall 13 so that the wall 18 is opposed to the wall 17 only partially and at a lower portion 21 thereof. The wall 18, and more precisely the portion 21 of the latter, and the wall 16 lie on opposite sides with respect to the wall 17. In light of the above description, when the structure 7 is superim posed on the bowl 2 as specified above, the edge 20 is, at least for a segment thereof, at a higher level with respect to the wall 13, the edge 20 and the bowl 2 lie on opposite sides with respect to the wall 12, and when a person is sitting on the seat 1, the wall 18 is at least partially opposed to at least a lower portion of the back, and preferably at a lower portion of each hip, of said person.

As can be seen in figure 1 , the edge 19 preferably lies in a plane while the edge 20 extends from the edge 19, preferably close to the end 8, over a preferably almost vertical first segment. Said first segment of the edge 20 is followed by a second segment also preferably extending away from the edge 19 but prefera bly with a lower slope than that of the first segment. Said second segment of the edge 20 is followed by a third segment preferably lying in a plane parallel to the plane in which the edge 19 lies. Said third segment of the edge 20 is followed by a fourth segment approaching the edge 19. Said fourth segment is followed by a fifth segment also preferably approaching the edge 19 but preferably with a higher slope than that of the fourth segment, and more preferably which is al most vertical. Said fifth segment ends by joining the edge 19 close to the end 9. The wall 18, and more generally the seat 1, is preferably symmetrical with re spect to a plane arranged vertically when the structure 7 is superimposed on the bowl 2 as specified above, and preferably coinciding with a vertical plane of symmetry of the bowl 2.

Preferably, the points of the aforesaid third segment of the edge 20 (which are at the higher level with respect to the edge 19) are at a height of 60 cm with re spect to the edge 19.

The wall 18, at the edge 19 thereof, is hermetically connected to the structure 7 continuously (i.e. , without any interruptions along the edge 19). In addition to this, as can be seen in figure 3, the wall 18 has an at least partially diverging development from the edge 19 thereof away from the wall 12. Said diverging development can preferably be found at least at the portion 21 of the wall 18. In light of the above description, the wall 18, at the portion 21 thereof and together with the wall 17, delimits a third cavity 22 surrounding the cavity 11 and sepa- rated from the latter by the wall 17.

The sitting member 6 comprises a first plurality of through holes 23 and a sec ond plurality of through holes 24 obtained in the structure 7. More precisely, the holes 23 are made in the wall 17 so that each hole 23 is interposed between the edge 19 (of the wall 18) and the wall 13 (of the structure 7), so as to put the cavity 22 in communication with the cavity 11. Preferably, the delimiting edge of one or more holes 23 coincides, for a segment thereof, with the edge 19 of the wall 18 (so that one or more holes 23 are adjacent to the wall 18 at the edge 19 thereof). The holes 24 are obtained in the wall 12 at the portion 14, and more precisely preferably at the aforementioned second segment thereof (which fol- lows the aforementioned “intermediate segment” and projects from the edge 4 into the opening 5 partially occluding the latter), so that, when the structure 7 is superimposed on the bowl 2 as specified above, the holes 24 put the cavity 11 in communication with the opening 5 of the bowl 2.

As can be seen in figure 3, with reference to the position of the seat 1 when the structure 7 is superimposed on the bowl 2 as specified above, at least one hole 24, and preferably all the holes 24, are at a lower level with respect to the holes 23 if all at the same level, or with respect to a hole located at the lowest level among the holes 23.

The holes 23 follow one another in the wall 17 preferably from the end 8 to the end 9 and at the same level with reference to an orientation of the seat 1 such that the wall 13 is arranged horizontally.

Likewise, the holes 24 follow one another in the portion 14 of the wall 12 prefer- ably from the end 8 to the end 9 and at the same level with reference to an ori entation of the seat 1 such that the wall 13 is arranged horizontally.

The seat 1 preferably comprises one or more legs 25 through which the seat 1 can rest on the ground. The legs 25 are shown by way of explanation in number equal to two and each of them has previously been identified by the term “bear ing structure”. Each leg 25 comprises a first end 26 and a second end 27 oppo site to the end 26. Each leg 25 is connected to the structure 7 or, as shown in the figures, to the wall 18 at the end 26. Each leg 25 can rest on the ground at the end 27 so that, when the legs 25 rest on the ground, the structure 7 is su- perimposed on the bowl 2 as specified above.

As can be seen in figures 1 and 2, each of the legs 25 is preferably connected to the wall 18 on the opposite side with respect to the wall 17 of the structure 7, i.e. , externally. When the seat 1 rests on the ground at the legs 25 and is super imposed on the bowl 2, the latter is preferably interposed between the legs 25, with each leg 25 preferably at one side of the bowl 2. Therefore, each leg 25 is more proximal to one end 8 or 9 of the structure 7 than to the other end 9 or 8 of said structure 7.

Preferably, each of the legs 25 is adjustable in length (understood as the dis tance between the ends 26 and 27). Moreover, each of the legs 25 is preferably reversibly connected to the structure 7 or the wall 18.

Since the seat 1 is preferably symmetrical with respect to a plane (i.e., the seat 1 preferably has a plane of symmetry), the legs 25 are also preferably symmet rical with respect to said plane.

Incidentally, if the seat 1 comprises the legs 25, when the seat 1 rests on the ground at the legs 25, the structure 7, although superimposed on the bowl 2 as specified above, may not be in contact therewith.

Again incidentally, in the absence of the legs 25, the seat 1 can preferably rest on the bowl 2 at the structure 7. More precisely, the latter can rest on the edge 4 of the bowl 2 at the portion 15 of the wall 12 so that the structure 7 is super- imposed on the bowl 2 as specified above (i.e., projecting, at the portion 14, from the edge 4 above and/or inside the opening 5, and so that the cavity 10 is vertically aligned with the opening 5). The seat 1 preferably comprises a back member 28 extending from a lower edge 29 thereof to an upper edge 30 thereof. The back member 28 is connect ed, at the edge 29, to the structure 7 at the wall 13 or, preferably, along the edge of the wall 13 where the latter is joined to the wall 16 or 17. The back member 28 is opposed to the wall 18 so as to be surrounded by the latter. With reference to the position of the seat 1 when the structure 7 is superimposed with the bowl 2 as specified above, the edge 30 is at a lower level with respect to the edge 20. That is, the back member 28 is lower than the wall 18. The edge 29 preferably lies in a plane while the edge 30 extends from the edge 29, pref- erably close to the end 8, over a first segment away from the edge 29. Said first segment of the edge 30 is followed by a second segment preferably lying in a plane parallel to the plane in which the edge 29 lies. Said second segment of the edge 30 is followed by a third segment extending towards the edge 29 and joining the latter close to the end 9. Preferably, the points of the aforesaid second segment of the edge 30 (which are at the highest level with respect to the edge 29) are at a height of 20 cm with respect to the edge 29.

Since the seat 1 is preferably symmetrical with respect to a plane, the back member 28 is also preferably symmetrical with respect to said plane. Incidentally, if the seat 1 comprises the back member 28, when the structure 7 is superimposed on the bowl 2 as specified above, and a person is sitting on the seat 1, the wall 18 is at least partially opposed to at least a lower portion of the back, and preferably at a lower portion of each hip, of said person with the in terposition of the back member 28. The seat 1 preferably comprises a pair of handles 31 preferably obtained in the back member 28 close to the two joining points of the edge 29 with the edge 30, respectively. With reference to the position of the seat 1 when the structure 7 is superimposed with the bowl 2 as specified above, each of the handles 31 thus extends from the structure 7 away from the bowl 2. When the seat 1 is superimposed on the bowl 2 as specified above (i.e., with the structure 7 superimposed on the bowl 2 projecting, at the portion 14, from the edge 4 above and/or inside the opening 5, and so that the cavity 10 is verti- cally aligned with the opening 5), it is advantageously suitable for conveying a liquid (such as soapy water) falling onto the wall 18 or onto a person sitting on the seat 1, into the bowl 2. More precisely, said liquid, due to the weight force acting thereon, is conveyed into the cavity 22 by the wall 18 and the back mem- ber 28 (or by the skin of the aforesaid person if the back member 28 is not pre sent). From the cavity 22, the liquid penetrates into the cavity 11 crossing the wall 17 of the structure 7 at the holes 23. Since the portion 14 of the wall 12 of the structure 7 is preferably at a lower level with respect to the portion 15 of said wall 12, and since the holes 24 are obtained at the portion 14, the liquid enter- ing in the cavity 11 tends, due to the weight force, to flow towards the portion 14 and therefore towards the holes 24 to then precipitate into the bowl 2.

According to a variant of the seat 1 , the portion 14 of the wall 12 of the structure 7 has an at least partially converging development, away from the wall 17, to wards the interior of the bowl 2 when the structure 7 is superimposed on the lat- ter as specified above. In that case, at least one hole 24, and preferably all the holes 24, are at a zone of the portion 14 of the wall 12 placed at the lowest level in the portion 14.

Based on the description given for a preferred embodiment, it is apparent that some changes may be introduced by those skilled in the art, without however departing from the scope of the invention as defined by the following claims.
