Abstract:
Provided is a sealing device that can greatly decrease loss of material forming a lid body and also prevent contamination of a container with debris, and that also enables the configuration of the device as a whole to be simplified. This sealing device is for sealing, with a lid body, an opening of a container having the opening and an edge that forms the outer circumferential edge of the opening, the sealing device comprising: a holding part that has a holding body for holding the container in a state in which the edge of the container is exposed; and a joining body for joining the lid body to an edge formed on the circumferential edge of the opening, the holding body being formed so that it is possible to arrange the lid body, which is formed into a sheet in advance, so as to face the opening of the holding body, and the joining body causes the lid body formed into the sheet in advance to be joined to the container.
